Viridian Games

Viridian talks about his kids, game development, and anything else that comes to mind.

Holy Crap!

Well, that’s my whole day wasted. Now if only Steve Jackson would do the same for The Space Gamer/Fantasy Gamer…

Oh yeah, that WOULD be great! Did you play the Microgames from, I think, MetaGaming, back in the day, before Steve Jackson became Steve Jackson? They covered that stuff in there too I believe.

I actually came along too late and never encountered a Microgame “in the wild”. I loved the concept, though, and loved reading the designer’s notes in the early Space Gamers (I actually have a lot of issues of the Space Gamer/Fantasy Gamer). I’d love a PDF archive of the whole run so I could stop having to buy issues off Ebay and so I wouldn’t have to worry about spilling anything on them…

I sold box loads of games when I moved into the house we’re in now, both to clear out space, and to partially settle a debt with a friend (along with about 1100 paperbacks). However, I just could NOT bring myself to part with the Microgames. They just don’t take up space and have a special place in my heart. Now only if I had people to play them with :) Darn people having kids and lives and stuff - hehe
