Name That Game 26!

Today’s game was released on PC, Playstation and Sega Saturn. If you don’t know who made it, the answer will probably surprise you.

What could it BE?!

But someone out there knows, I’m sure! Name and developer, please.

I’m at a loss. One day I may get a Saturn. I hear the games were nice, but the system died a premature death.

This game looks interesting. Sort of like Twisted Metal?

    Hi Octane, by Bullfrog.
    Bought it new in 95.

Correct! Most people don’t know that Bullfrog put out a combat racing game. It was built on the Magic Carpet engine and was designed to both get them used to developing on the then-current consoles and also fill a soft spot in their release schedule. It was allegedly completed in just eight weeks.

8 weeks to put together a racing game based on an engine that wasn’t a car racing game engine? I’m impressed!

Most car racing game engines are pretty much flight simulators anyway.. =)

(Unfair - I’m away for a week and there’s three updates already! =)
